Quick Business Tips April 2006 Vol 2 No# 11

Helping you get more done in less time and improve your business success

1. Fabulous Outlook trick 1 in 10,000 would know Get more done in less time

2. Business changing ah-ha moments Business success

1. Fabulous feature in Outlook only 1 in 10,000 would know

Give me a slap on the head!
"Here she is, she wrote a book on using Outlook and she didn't know this!!!!"

When you click open a contact, the general tab is the one you view. There are 4 other tabs: Details, Activites, Certificates, All Fields.

If you click on the "ACTIVITIES TAB" in an Outlook contact (not Outlook Express), It will start listing all the email, task, appointment (etc) activities you have had with that individual - and it shows you what folder they are in. Wowwwweeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Business changing ah-ha! moments. A reminder

"OH NO!!!! Not Patricia Flipp"
The children would MOAN in unison making a joke of her name. So sometimes I would give in to Iron Maiden. Metallica. Or Snoop Dog. Mostly though (well, if dad wasn't in the car - he's the boss) I would win and listen to one of my business CD's. Patricia Fripp I review often, as she's a fabulous speaking coach.

Just one little sentence
Over the past two years, how many business tapes, books have you bought? Seminars, conferences, workshops attended? It's an investment in time and money that can pay off dramatically for you - personally and business wise. It's that one little sentence you'll read or hear - that one little idea - that when you apply it, will make significant impact.

I'm currently part of a sugar and spice duo regional roadshow for the Professionals Real Estate group The other speaker Ina (she's the spice), a top sales person for the company has a strong message about investing in ongoing education and training.

So please view this as a timely reminder not to be too busy. Make time to improve your productivity and business. Be on the lookout for ways to enhance how you conduct your business, the way you "sell", market, deal with clients, manage your time......

Where can you go to further your development?

  1. Library / Bookstores
  2. Networking functions
  3. Associations - join them and use their websites
  4. Sign up for newsletters
  5. Conferences

"For eighteen months I've been receiving the Business Tip Newsletter. Each one helps me fine-tune my computer skills and gets me thinking 'how can I do this smarter?'. They're short, punchy and useful - one of the few publications I read in full before filing. Keep up the great work, Debbie!"
